François Portier obtained his PhD thesis from University of Rennes 1 within the maths department IRMAR. He was a PostDoc at UCLouvain from 2013 to 2016. Next he moved to Télécom Paris as an assistant professor till 2021. He is currently Associate professor at CREST-ENSAI and his current research topics include Monte Carlo methods with application to stochastic optimization and probability measure approximation. His research also focus on non-parametric estimation methods with a particular interest in local-averaging estimators.
