Monetary economics
Olivier Loisel holds a PhD in economics from the Ecole Polytechnique. His PhD dissertation was awarded the Bank of France Foundation prize for the best PhD dissertation in money, finance, or banking. He has worked at the Bank of France, in the Monetary Policy Research Division, first as an economist and then as deputy chief, before joining ENSAE and CREST. His main research interests are in macroeconomic theory and monetary economics. His research works are more specifically about monetary policy (in normal times and in crisis times), macroprudential policy, and exchange-rate regimes.
